I have worked in the fast food industry, been in the Air Force, worked for NASA through System Development Corporation, started Virtual Media Integration with it’s flagship product – the X-ray Storage, Transmission & Reproduction System, dabbled in real estate, and used to own a bar. But the most sustained satisfaction I have enjoyed has resulted from the combination of gaining Janet, my wife, in my life and the expansion of our collective business efforts into our own version of the ‘Work At Home’ concept. Our successes are realized through programming, graphic design, client relations, distributive advertising, product & service marketing and various projects developed around the generation of passive income through search engine optimization.

There is an unlimited number of things you can choose to do with your life and define yourself by. I have tried many. Some have been successes and some dismal failures. The happiness in my life comes not from the cash that Janet and I generate as a team, but from the level of trust and knowingness that comes from bonding with a person on the level that we have accomplished. That and the fact that we are our own bosses. There is nothing in the world like having a partner that you can completely trust at your side and the knowledge that, together, the ideas that provide for our future just keep coming.

My suggestion to anyone reading this: If you have ever had the desire to work for yourself, even on a part time basis from home, give it a try! Don’t ever let anyone tell you that it is too hard or that there is too much risk involved. That comes from people that are scared. Though it is true that not everybody is cut out for being your own boss, if you have had the inclination to do so then the ability ALREADY resides in you. If you don’t explore that urge then you will never know and you are sure to be stuck working for someone else – living paycheck to paycheck. I am so fortunate to have been one of those people with ‘the urge’!

Those of you that have known me for years will attest to me living by something that I had on the back of one of my business cards many years ago. It started off with WARNING in big, bold, red letters and continued as follows:

The use of these words will have a profound effect on your life. Be very careful with how you apply them. They are guaranteed to bring you the things you desire.

POWERFUL, POSITIVE, ONGOING, SUCCESSFUL
TREMENDOUS, AWESOME, WONDERFUL, CREATIVE

The text on the back of that card then ended with “Make these words descriptions of you!” Something that I urge each and every one of you reading this to do.
